Dato’ Angus Tiong Chau Siong
Dato’ Angus, as the founder and managing partner has obtained his Law Degree from University of London LLB (Hons). In furtherance of his passion in law and international shipping field, he pursued further studies abroad by taking Postgraduate Master Degree in Maritime Law it University of Nottingham (UK), where he was awarded with the highest grade of “Distinction”.
As its managing partner, he heads established practice that specialises in business and corporate transactions, intellectual property, banking & finance and dispute resolution. He is active both in and out of Courts. Since being admitted to the Malaysian Bar in 2007, Angus has been actively involved in a number of high profile cases involving various areas of law such as intellectual property litigation, corporate litigation, arbitration, banking litigation, land matters, tort law and defamation. His litigation experience includes taking conduct of full trials and hearings right up to the Federal Court level, the apex court of Malaysia.
Datin Woon Huei Chin
Datin Woon Huei Chin is co-founder of Tiong & Woon since 2012. She graduated from University of Reading, United Kingdom. During her English Bar studies, she gained court experience by doing mini-pupillage at 6 King’s Bench Walk, London. She then qualified as a Barrister-at-Law from the Lincoln’s Inn, United Kingdom in 2007 and was called to the High Court of Malaya in 2008.
Datin Woon Huei Chin started her practice in the Intellectual Property Department of one of the biggest firm in Malaysia, Shearn Delamore & Co, where she was exposed to the rudiments of various types of high profile cases involving intellectual property litigation. During this time, she also handled trade mark infringement, passing off, copyright and extensive trademarks portfolio of the firm. She was subsequently offered by Lee Hishammuddin Allen & Gledhill to join their Litigation Department in year 2010.
Datin Woon is actively involved in a broad range of civil, corporate and commercial litigations where it involves Developers, Government Linked Companies, Highway Concessionaire, Private and Public Multinational Companies. Matters handled by Datin Woon have been acknowledged by clients as “leaving in good hands”. She is further adored for her ‘crunchy and crispy’ drafting skills where complex situations can always be illustrated in simple, concise and easy to digest style that are helpful for Courts, without compromising on quality.
Chen May Jien (Jeanne)
Jeanne Chen is a graduate of Cardiff University, United Kingdom with a degree of Second Upper Class. Following the completion of her degree, she continued her legal training in Cardiff University doing the Bar Professional Training Course where she received the grade of ‘Very Competent’. She was qualified as a Barrister-at-Law at the Honorable Society of Middle Temple in July 2016 and was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in March 2018.
She then commenced and completed her pupillage in the chambers of Messrs. Chee Hoe & Associates under the tutelage of her pupil master, Mr Lai Chee Hoe. Thereafter, she commences her practice with Messrs Tiong & Woon. Jeanne practices in the Corporate and Litigation department in a wide range of matters including corporate dispute’s claims, contractual claims, bankruptcy and winding up, shareholder disputes and debt recovery.
